Christmas and Maggie's Broken Hearing Aid

M aggie's BAHA ( hearing aid) broke the Friday before Christmas. We had to send it off to get fixed on Christmas Eve and were so thankful we bought the extended warranty to cover things like this. Her Baha was very expensive and essential to Maggie's everyday life. I would describe it as almost like another limb or a part of her body. It has become such a help to Maggie that she really doesn't live in a hearing impaired world. Her Baha allows her to live in a hearing world. And that is just amazing !    S o, we all had Christmas on Christmas Eve so Maggie could hear. We knew once we sent off her hearing aid, she would be distraught ( and she was ). But, we made it through and received a brand new fixed Baha  four days later. Gotcha Day Anniversary - Three years ago !

  T oday we celebrate Maggie's Gotcha Day. Three years ago we met Maggie for the first time. She was tired and cranky and we were overwhelmed with how much we loved her.  Maggie has blossomed into such a beautiful, sweet and silly little girl.   But, she is quick to say that she is a big girl !   Four years old !   Happy Gotcha Day Maggie !!!!!!
