We all had a great Christmas spending time with family. Maggie really got into Christmas this year too ! She is really into art and loved this art easel ! She's also into painting ! (This was early Christmas morning) We're really into Auburn football too. War Eagle ! The only thing Maggie asked for was a pointer... and she got three of them !
I am not sure where you are from, but in the South, we send Christmas cards. Not just any cards mind you. We send Christmas Cards with pictures of our children ( usually dressed in their Christmas best, beach family photos, or even cute poses with funny Christmas hats). The cards are wonderful gifts that we love to get in the mail. It is so fun to walk to the mailbox during the month of December. Will I get a card from my college roommate and see how big her children are now ? Or will it be my sweet nieces from Birmingham all dressed in their matching outfits ? W e display our cards in a card tree during December, then they go in THE BASKET after Christmas. The Basket holds all the past and present Christmas cards for us to go through all year long and look at. T his was our second year to camp at Mile High Campgrounds in Cherokee, North Carolina. It is a very primitive campground with no power/water hookups. Mile High is located on the Cherokee Indian reservation and has some of the most beautiful views of the Smoky Mountains. We like to go in July/August because the weather at Mile High is incredible. It feels like a perfect fall day up on the mountain ! The campground closes mid October so the summer months are the best time to go. We camped out with lots of family this time and had fun just hanging out by the fire, playing the guitar. We brought our camper, but others brought a tent. Hammocks are a must when we camp. We saw lots of Elk at the campground. They usually show up around dinner time and gave us a big show. We loved to just hang out at the campsite, but there's a lot to do around Cherokee.
